DescriptionRole Title: Director – Organisation EffectivenessLocation: London, UKWhat will you be doing:Overall purpose of roleA strategic thought leader on Organisational Effectiveness, and its ongoing development and evolution. Uses data and analytics to diagnose, develop and support the implementation of strategies to improve the overall effectiveness of the organisation, collaborating with HR (particularly HRBPs), business leaders and colleagues across all levels to identify and address areas for improvement. All aspects of organisational health are considered, covering organisation design, governance and ways of working, talent (skills and DEI), leadership and culture.Projects will often involve being part of multi-disciplinary teams from across both People Analytics & Culture, the HR function and sometimes the wider business, to help fully scope and understand the business problem, before determining the best research and analysis approach to address the relevant business questions. Forming strong collaborative relationships with PA&C People Sciences, PA&C Account Management, HR Chief Data Office (CDO) and PA&C Data Products will be key to delivering successful insight consultancy projects with lasting impact. The role requires strong relationship management and consultancy skills to first of all understand respective business problems, before then applying problem solving and analytical abilities to appropriately diagnose the issues at hand and offer up actionable recommendations that can be tracked over time. Storytelling will be a key skill to enable the role holder to be able to translate a variety of datasets into compelling narratives, that both influence and steer business decision making, to deliver great outcomes for Barclays. Key AccountabilitiesOrg Effectiveness (OE) Leadership and Strategy Development · Work closely with the Head of PA&C Insight Consultancy, wider PA&C LT and members of HR ExCo, to shape the OE strategy and vision, particularly as it relates to developing Organisation Design expertise and capability across the HR function and business design lead teams, to better enable business transformation efforts. · Draw on a range of external and internal best practices to continually shape and develop the OE strategy and approach for Barclays, including ongoing improvements to people, processes, technologies and tools to enhance our OE capability.Org Effectiveness Consultancy Project Leadership & Delivery Through partnership with HRBPs, their business teams and the wider capabilities within PA&C, fulfil a number of key activities aligned to the successful delivery of an organisation effectiveness project;· Diagnose the business strategy and problem : work to clarify the organisation's mission, vision, and strategy and the subsequent identification of organisational health opportunities in alignment with these. Analyse and prioritise areas for improvement accordingly. · Solution design : Drawing on a range of quantitative and qualitative data sources, develop and design organisation change initiatives aligned to the aspect(s) of organisational health that has been prioritised for improvement (e.g. organisation design/operating model, ways of working, culture, leadership, skills and DEI based workforce plans). · Change intervention delivery : Support HR and business leads with the implementation of prioritised change initiatives, through continual guidance, consultancy and advice where required. · Benefits tracking & monitoring : Enable the business and HR to identify and track the right KPIs and overall effectiveness measures of the identified initiatives, through the provision of accurate self-serve data and analytics tooling.Relationship & Stakeholder Management · Partner with PA&C Account Management, HR ExCo members and their teams (Managing Director / Director level) to help identify, prioritise and deliver high value, strategic OE interventions within their business areas, to support business outcomes. · Communication: within that, help manage expectations of service provision and project roadmap / delivery. This will often be at senior levels in the organization. · Build organizational knowledge and a collaborative network of internal relationships to achieve objectives and overcome challenges.Data Translation, Storytelling & Influencing · Translate findings and analytics-derived insights from a broad range of sources, into easy-to-understand stories, with actionable recommendations for internal clients to implement. Important to be able to story tell across all grades within the organization. · Ensure stakeholders understand the performance and limitations of proposed PA&C insight product solutions, and that these are articulated based on business benefit.Analytics Stewardship & Data Governance · Be an ambassador for PA&C in promoting the PA&C service across HR, educating the broader HR Function on the benefits the service can deliver.· Support the upskilling of HR colleagues in using data led insights and analytics to drive decision making through ongoing engagement, education and the adoption of PA&C products. · Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.· Understand and adhere to HR data privacy, governance and control policies particularly in relation to data storage and delivery.What we’re looking for:· Organisation Design (OD) expertise – proven, applied experience in developing and deploying OD expertise to support large scale business transformation programmes, including expert level knowledge of OD process methodologies, frameworks and diagnostic approaches. · Team leadership and strategy formulation – extensive experience in creating strategy and vision, and engaging teams to deliver against it.· Problem solving & analytical thinking – applied experience in using systems thinking to help approach problems expansively and creatively. Comfortable in directing a range of quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques.· Relationship management & consultancy - excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills. Experience managing stakeholders at senior levels within HR (up to HR ExCo) and the business (up to Group ExCo), and be able to adapt style accordingly.· Story-telling - ability to translate complex technical detail into simple, compelling narratives that lead the customer to tangible actions they can take to address business challenges.· Commercial acumen - strong understanding of how corporate organizations operate, including a good level of commercial knowledge (business strategy, business models and financials) to help inform how data informed OE recommendations can impact commercial outcomes.· Data tools & platforms - experience of working with OrgVue scenario modelling tooling (or equivalent), Workday HRIS, as well as MI Direct Access Tools (e.g. dashboards), with an understanding of the benefits and solutions they provide.· Microsoft Office - Advanced Excel and experience of producing executive level presentations in PowerPoint.Skills that will help you in your role:· CIPD or equivalent qualification(s)
