Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a ward team led by a consultant with input from doctors in training, Advance Clinical Practitioners and also as part of a wider multi-disciplinary medical team.
Appointees will have the opportunity to work in a variety of medical specialties within the trust during the term of the post. We would consider the specific interests of the applicant where appropriate and could offer placements in the following:
* Cardiology
* Care of the Elderly
* Diabetes & Endocrinology
* Acute Medicine
* Haematology
* Respiratory Medicine
Job responsibilities
This is a primarily ward‑based position working a standard 40‑hr week. Participating in the general medical on call rota at registrar level is expected and remunerated with the appropriate enhancement to pay. You will be expected to lead ward rounds, contribute to the running of Ambulatory Emergency care services, Same Day emergency care services, general medical outpatient care and contribute to the development of junior colleagues.
Post holders would also have the opportunity to work with the medical schools Clinical Fellow cohort to help deliver teaching to undergraduate medical students.
Person Specification
Professional Experience
* Broad interest and experience in General Medicine and Care of the Elderly
Academic achievements
* MRCP or equivalent experience
* Valid ALS certificate
