Technical Author - Contract Opportunity Location: AWE, Berkshire (Hybrid - 2 days per week on site) Rate: £40-45/hour (Inside IR35) Security Clearance: Active SC required The Role We're looking for an experienced Technical Author to support delivery on a highly regulated defence programme at AWE. This role is focused on producing clear, accurate, and structured technical documentation to support engineering operations, plant activities, and procedural compliance. You'll play a key role in translating complex engineering data into accessible documentation-ensuring stakeholders fully understand operational processes, risks, safety considerations, and technical justifications. Key Responsibilities Document Origination & Control Produce high-quality technical documentation including: Method Statements Risk Assessments Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) Lift Plans Maintenance Instructions System Information Sheets Change Control Documentation Support and review key documentation such as FAT, SAT, and requirements documents Research, analyse, and interpret engineering data to ensure technical accuracy Structure and present information in line with recognised standards and best practice Manage document control, indexing, and cataloguing for efficient retrieval Ensure all documentation is delivered in line with project schedulesTechnical Support & Liaison Work closely with Engineering, Site, and Project Manag...
