Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of nuclear education in the UK?
The Department of Physics and Astronomy is seeking a proactive and highly organised Postgraduate Administrator to support the delivery of the prestigious Nuclear Technology Education Consortium (NTEC) programme. This nationally significant MSc programme is the only one of its kind in the UK, delivered in partnership with five leading universities and a range of high-profile industry stakeholders.
Why This Role Matters
From September 2025, the University of Manchester will become the sole enrolling institution for all NTEC students. With over 175 full-time, part-time, and CPD students, the programme is growing in scale and complexity, and this role is central to ensuring its continued success.
What You’ll Do
• Coordinate all administrative aspects of the postgraduate taught (PGT) student lifecycle, from registration to graduation.
• Manage communications and logistics across a multi-institutional consortium, including five UK university partners and industry bodies such as Navy Command.
• Organise student travel and accommodation for off-site teaching using Key Travel.
• Administer assessments and in-house exams across 19 course units, including secure dissertation submissions and second marker coordination.
• Support financial processes, including invoicing partner institutions and managing sponsored student documentation.
• Liaise with academic leads across the Faculty of Science and Engineering as the programme expands its delivery footprint.
What We’re Looking For
• A detail-oriented and adaptable professional with experience in higher education administration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships across institutions and sectors.
• Confidence in handling complex logistics, financial processes, and student-facing responsibilities.
• A collaborative mindset and a passion for supporting students in a high-impact, nationally recognised programme.
Why Join Us?
This is a chance to be part of a transformative educational mission that supports the UK’s nuclear sector and energy future. You’ll work in a collaborative, forward-thinking department, alongside academic and professional services colleagues who are committed to innovation and excellence.
