AW Surgeries are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated cleaner to join our surgery team.
You will work under the guidance of the Practice Manager to provide a high standard of cleaning across the two surgeries.
Cleaners are responsible for a wide range of cleaning duties and responsibilities, which include ensuring that areas of work allocated are cleaned to the required standard/specification.
You will work as part of a team, to maintain a good standard of cleanliness and hygiene around the surgeries. Previous experience would be desirable but not essential as training will be given.
The role would be to cover the cleaning staff holidays, absences and training and equates to approximately 37 weeks per year, 2 hrs per day 5:30pm to 7:30pm Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
1. Thoroughly cleaning areas to the required specification, as directed, using correct techniques andcleaning equipment.
2. Safe removal of litter and waste to allocated disposal points, taking particular care with liquids, brokenglass or other substances, which may be unsafe to other staff.
3. Locking and unlocking windows and doors as directed.
4. Undertaking training in use of methods, materials and equipment, as instigated by your line Manager
5. Working safely using correct warning signs, protective clothing and safety equipment, being mindful ofhazards to other staff and visitors. Compliance with the Health & Safety practices of the surgery.
6. Replenishing supplies of toiletries, bin bags etc., as directed.
7. Ensuring all containers of cleaning agents are correctly labelled before use and are used safely and incompliance with manufacturers written instructions and that all chemicals are securely stored away whennot in use.
8. Emptying vacuum cleaners at the end of each day. Cleaning and checkingall equipment used after use, checking cables for wear and tear and storing away in a suitable safe area.Notifying line manager of any faults found.
9. Reporting immediately to your line manager any defective electrical sockets, lighting,etc., inthe surgery.
10. Ensuring line manager is aware of low stock levels of materials and equipment.
11. Assist in keeping chemicals and cleaning materials and equipment storage areas in a clean and tidycondition.
About us
AW Surgeries is a large surgery covering two sites at Albion House and Withymoor surgery.
The successful canditate will join at team of 6 cleaning staff working across the two sites.
