Payroll Assistant
Location: Ruislip
Salary: Up to £30,000
Contract: Permanent, Office Based
Are you a detail-driven Payroll Assistant with a passion for accuracy and process? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy payroll team at a well-established business in Ruislip. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you’ll be involved in high-volume timesheet processing and weekly payrolls, supporting smooth and accurate payments for a fluctuating workforce.
This role would suit a methodical Payroll Assistant or payroll administrator with strong numeracy and a head for data – someone who enjoys working at pace and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.
About the Role: Working in a friendly and supportive team, you’ll be responsible for manually inputting timesheet data, assisting with payroll calculations, and supporting the full end-to-end payroll process. With around 1500 timesheets to be processed each week across three separate payroll cycles, this role requires strong focus, good systems knowledge, and the ability to spot and correct anomalies.
Key duties include:
* Reviewing incoming timesheets and ensuring accuracy on dates, hours worked, and approvals
* Inputting payroll data into the internal system with high attention to detail
* Applying the correct tax codes and ensuring statutory deductions are made accurately
* Assisting with BACs submissions and payroll processing alongside the wider team
* Supporting with statutory deductions including DOE’s, pensions, SSP, and holiday pay
* Responding to employee payroll queries and maintaining accurate records
What we’re looking for:
* Some experience working within payroll or a strong administrative background with numeracy skills
* Comfortable with repetitive data entry and accuracy-critical tasks
* Confident working with Microsoft Excel and payroll systems
* GCSE Maths grade C (or equivalent) as a minimum
* Logical thinker with a methodical approach and excellent attention to detail
* A team player who can manage their own workload while supporting shared goals
* Interest in pursuing payroll qualifications such as CIPP (desirable but not essential)
Why apply?
* Competitive salary up to £30,000
* 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
* Pension scheme and full training provided
* Friendly, experienced team with great support
* Full-time, office-based role with long-term stability
This Payroll Assistant role offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced payroll environment, and would also suit someone looking to grow their career within payroll processing and finance administration.
