The Position
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working person for a full-time engineering / technical position. You will spend most of your time using Solidworks and therefore a good working knowledge of the software is important, however
we are open to someone experienced with different software experience (e.g. Inventor, CREO). Competent 3D CAD modelling skills are essential (Educational only use would not be sufficient). The products you will be working on are dry bulk materials handling equipment and conveyors, primarily design of sheet metal and steel machined components.
Duties
· Produce accurate, detailed engineering drawings.
· Produce project documents including specification sheets, instruction manuals, BOM's
· Produce sales proposal drawings.
· Occasionally visiting customer sites to take measurements and produce layout drawings.
· Regularly liaise with customers (for example: on progress with their projects)
Requirements
· Knowledge of producing working technical drawings and specifications
· Proficient in Solidworks, however other 3D CAD software would be considered.
· HNC / HND / Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Education may be substituted with additional relevant experience
· Competent with Excel, Word and Outlook
· A strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail.
· Ability to work productively without ongoing supervision.
· Good inter-personal skills.
· Good planning & organisational skills.
· Fit and able bodied as the position requires dexterity to climb stairs/ladders in industrial locations.
· Experience in machinery design and familiarization with relevant standards (e.g. the machinery directive) would be an advantage.
Experience
· Mechanical design: 2 years (required)
· CAD: 2 years (required)
· Machinery design (Standards compliance, e.g. Machinery Directive): 1 year (desirable)
