Finance Data Solutions Analyst
Working hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis
Salary: Circa £45,000 depending on experience plus an excellent benefits package
Location: Swindon/Fareham/UK Hybrid working

The opportunity:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Data Solutions Analyst to join our team. You’ll help shape and deliver the data capabilities that underpin our Finance transformation roadmap to modernise how Finance works.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can work independently on well-defined analysis tasks, engage confidently with stakeholders, and contribute to the delivery of data solutions that support and improve Finance processes. You’ll be part of a collaborative team working across Finance, Data, and Technology. You’ll be helping to define, document, and deliver the data changes needed to support transformation.
What will you be doing?
1. Work with Finance stakeholders to understand business processes and identify data requirements that support Finance activities.
2. Translate business needs into structured documentation, including data requirements, process maps, data flows, and user stories.
3. Support the delivery of data products aligned to the Finance transformation roadmap.
4. Contribute to data governance by helping define data definitions, quality rules, lineage, and ownership models.
5. Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and the Central Data Office (CDO) to ensure solutions are well-governed and aligned to standards.
6. Support testing, validation, and adoption of new data capabilities, ensuring they meet business needs and are embedded into ways of working.
7. Identify opportunities to improve data quality, streamline processes, and reduce manual effort across Finance.
What are we looking for?
8. Experience as a Business Analyst or Data Business Analyst, ideally in a Finance, data, or transformation context.
9. Strong analytical and documentation skills; able to structure problems, define requirements, and produce clear deliverables.
10. Good understanding of Finance processes and how data supports Finance activities.
11. Comfortable working with data, including experience with Excel, SQL, or reporting tools (e.g. Power BI).
12. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills; able to work with both business and technical teams.
13. Familiarity with data governance concepts and a desire to improve data quality and control.
14. Organised, delivery-focused, and able to manage your own workload within a team environment.
