There is an exciting opportunity to join the Pre-Op Team within Liverpool Women's Department. We are currently recruiting for a Pre-Op Assessment Nurse.
Position Details:
* Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
The role of the pre-operative assessment practitioner includes being accountable for their own practice, including assessment and referral of patients, working autonomously within the pre-operative assessment clinic. Responsibilities include implementing care, providing specialist advice, drawing up clinical management plans, and contributing to clinical pathway development and service improvement initiatives.
An essential criterion for this role is a Clinical Examination course; however, applications are welcome from practitioners seeking to develop into this role and willing to undertake a 3-4 month Clinical Examination course (Annex 21 provisions apply).
Key duties include assessing patients, planning and implementing care, maintaining records, performing specialist nursing procedures such as clinical examinations and ECG recordings, and supporting the multidisciplinary team (MDT), patients, and relatives.
The candidate should function at an experienced nurse level, capable of making effective decisions, facilitating staff education, and assisting in departmental management to ensure excellent patient care and staff development. Responsibilities also include developing clinical protocols, SOPs, and contributing to workforce performance reviews.
