Staff Nurse - Intermediate Care at East Coast Community Healthcare CIC (ECCH). Based at Carlton Court Hospital, Lowestoft (NR33 8AG). Band 5. Permanent, full-time or part-time with flexible hours including nights, weekends and bank holidays per rota.

We are looking for Band 5 Staff Nurses who bring clinical confidence, warmth and professionalism. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, administer medication, supervise support staff and students, and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. Responsibilities
* Contribute to and promote ECCHs values and strategic direction within proactive and reactive services.
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care; act as a patient advocate with regard to confidentiality and cultural considerations.
* Manage patient admissions with involvement of clinical experts when relevant; proactive discharge planning and decision-making support.
* Act as a resource for other health and social care professionals; participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
* Take charge of the service/site in the absence of a Sister/Charge Nurse and lead the team to maintain a safe environment.
* Provide and communicate complex information to patients, clinicians and other agencies to aid decision-making; use motivational and coaching skills as needed.
* Participate in clinical supervision and maintain a learning environment for education and development.
* Contribute to clinical governance through risk assessment and clinical audit; support evidence-based, cost-effective care and development of care pathways.
* Work with patients towards self-care and independence using health coaching techniques; review policies and guidelines to improve inpatient care and outcomes.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Fire and Environmental Waste Regulations; maintain accurate patient records per ECCH policies and NMC standards.
* Ensure cost-effective management and safe use of clinical equipment and resources; contribute to training programme evaluations to support patients and carers.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
* Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Nursing with NMC registration
* Experience in a healthcare setting (community nursing or hospital)
* Enthusiastic, patient-centred care; sound clinical governance knowledge; ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing needs
* Ability to prioritise and delegate; appropriate clinical judgement for unplanned situations
* Phlebotomy, cannulation, IV therapy and blood transfusion administration (where applicable)
* Proficiency with SystmOne or willingness to complete training
Desirable
* Experience in secondary care; evidence of improving clinical practice; case management experience
* Mentorship/teaching and pursuing further study; health-related degree

* Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organisational and time-management skills
* Ability to communicate with diverse groups; work autonomously; use IT (email/internet)
* Flexibility to work across sites and travel as required
