The Vacancy
JOB PURPOSE:
To maintain and repair a range of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment in Distribution Centres as defined on the “Scope of Works Task Sheets” in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Complete the PPM schedule within agreed KPI timescales and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and according to procedures.
* Work flexibly within the cluster as required.
* Respond promptly to service call requests from the Helpdesk, assess the job requirements, and carry out repairs as necessary.
* Prioritise maintenance and repair work to meet timescales and response times.
* Order spares following laid-down procedures.
* Identify non-repairable faults and advise the Senior Maintenance Technician or Cluster Facilities Manager, with recommendations for replacements.
* Make recommendations for suitable replacements when plant and equipment are non-repairable.
* Inform the GM and distribution line managers of repair issues affecting depot operations.
* Assist in managing third-party contractors and ensure proper filing of inspection paperwork.
* Conduct surveys and prepare reports as required.
* Carry out minor alterations and installations, including testing and certification.
* Perform general repairs and maintenance at designated sites.
* Assist colleagues in other areas as needed.
* Ensure tools and equipment are used correctly, available, and in good condition.
* Coordinate with project teams on site alterations and modernisations.
* Maintain accurate timesheets.
* Complete tasks in accordance with KPIs.
* Attend training to keep skills current.
* Follow Health and Safety policies at all times.
* Maintain quality standards in collaboration with colleagues.
* Follow instructions from supervisors.
* Represent the company professionally and foster good relationships with colleagues.
* Obtain approval for all costs following proper procedures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
* C&G 2382 (18th edition)
* Experience with electrical certification completion
* City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection
* Relevant industry experience or time served in electrical discipline
Specific Knowledge:
* 3-phase electrics and applications
