Overview
We are supporting a regional public sector organisation to appoint an Interim Procurement Manager to support delivery across a high-profile transport programme.
This is a key role within a growing combined authority environment, offering the opportunity to work on complex, high-value procurement activity that will directly support infrastructure and regional development.
The Role
You will take the lead on a range of procurement and commercial activities, supporting the delivery of services within the transport programme.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading end-to-end procurement exercises, from scoping through to award
* Providing expert guidance on procurement strategy, routes to market, and compliance
* Supporting commissioners to develop business cases and procurement approaches
* Managing tender processes, evaluations, and documentation
* Building effective supplier relationships and supporting contract performance
* Ensuring procurement activity aligns with public sector regulations and best practice
About You
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional who can operate confidently in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
You will bring:
* Strong experience delivering public sector procurement projects
* Proven track record across services procurement, ideally linked to infrastructure or transport
* Sound knowledge of UK procurement legislation and frameworks
* Experience managing multiple complex procurements simultaneously
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
* Ability to work autonomously and at pace in an interim capacity.
CIPS qualification (or equivalent experience) is highly desirable.
