Outline of role We are seeking a meticulous and safety-conscious Stock Control Operative to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate stock levels through cycle counts and inventory checks, ensuring stock integrity, and supporting warehouse operations. Main responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Monitor and maintain stock accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits Record and update inventory data using warehouse management systems (WMS) Receive, inspect, and record incoming goods accurately. Ensure outgoing stock is picked, packed, and dispatched correctly. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and report issues to management. Assist with stocktaking and annual inventory counts. Organise stock locations and ensure items are stored safely and efficiently. Work closely with warehouse, purchasing, and operations teams to track stock movements. Comply with health and safety standards and company policies. Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and report findings. Generate stock reports and summaries for management review. Knowledge and skills required Previous experience in a warehouse or stock control role Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills Basic computer literacy (experience with WMS is an advantage) Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment Reliable, punctual, and a good team player Flexible to work various shifts/overtime if required Reach truck licence preferred but training can be arranged Previous experience in a PI or stock control role Knowledge of SAP or similar warehouse systems Forklift licences (Counterbalance or PPT) a bonus As the business never stands still, your role will be required to evolve in line with changing business needs and so will be reviewed on a periodic basis.
