Job Title: Nuclear Engineering Manager – Submarines

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a key player in our team, you will:
* Lead and manage the complex delivery of the Test & Commissioning programme.
* Plan, manage, and review activities to ensure products are safe, compliant, and meet all requirements.
* Ensure all commissioning activities align with the Operational Framework and Test & Commissioning policies.
* Participate in the Reactor Test Group, preparing and reviewing essential documents.
* Act as the Nuclear Authorisation & Test Evaluation Committee Chairman when needed, ensuring adherence to processes and regulations.
* Assess and develop team members to maximize their contributions and meet contract specifications.
* Optimize performance and resource use within the Test & Commissioning team.
* Review processes to enhance efficiency and establish a best-in-class capability.
Your Skills and Experiences:
We’re looking for someone who has:
* The capability to hold Duly Authorised Persons appointment for nuclear hold-points.
* Demonstrable experience in Nuclear/Reactor Systems and/or Propulsion Systems Testing & Commissioning (submarine experience preferred).
* The ability to manage the Commissioning Team effectively to meet testing plans.
* Strong people management skills with a knack for providing clear direction.
* Experience in managing delivery to plan and schedule in a similar environment.
* A solid understanding of Nuclear Site Authorisation/Conditions and/or COMAH.
* Excellent communication skills to explain complex engineering processes.
* The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* A comprehensive understanding of technical issues across various engineering disciplines.
* Typically, an Incorporated Engineer working towards Chartership and a member of the relevant institute.
* ILM Level 2/3 or CMI Level 3/5 qualifications.
* An MBA/MSc/Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

The Nuclear (Reactor) Commissioning Team:
In this role, you will oversee all aspects of the Test and Commissioning team’s complex operations. You’ll manage individual boat contracts and interface with both internal and external stakeholders. We provide tailored relocation support for all Submarine roles, subject to eligibility criteria.
