A bit about what you will do...
The role of Pastry Sous Chef at Fairmont Windsor Park, is to Supervise day-to-day activities of the Pastry Kitchen, communicate objectives, and assign/schedule work. Communicate and enforce policies and procedures.
* Manage day-to-day activities of all kitchens including planning and assigning work amongst the team and creating an engaging environment for the team. Motivate employees through recognition, reward, training and development.
* Oversee and participate in the preparation of, and check and approve, all example cakes, cookies, desserts, ice creams and other food items prepared in the pastry kitchen.
* Adhere to all Food Safety management principles. Ensures that all health and safety practices are continually maintained and reported, and that all documentation is correctly filled in and recorded
* Manage day-to-day pastry activities, plan and assign work amongst the team and create an engaging environment for the team.
More about you...
* Proven track record as a pastry chef with at least 5 years experience.
* Experience of high-volume operations including banqueting.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* High food quality standards with a driven and can do attitude.
* Experience of working with brand standards.
* Holder of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates.
