The Role
As the Transport Planner, you will take responsibility for day to day planning, coordination and delivery performance across the fleet. Key tasks include:
* Developing and improving daily and weekly delivery plans
* Allocating vehicles and resources to achieve maximum utilisation
* Planning multi drop routes and maintaining efficient transit times
* Working closely with warehouse and distribution teams to support order fulfilment
* Identifying issues, preventing disruption and resolving transport bottlenecks
* Monitoring costs and helping reduce spend without affecting service
* Maintaining compliance with transport regulations and internal policies
* Using transport systems, route planning tools and data reporting dashboards
* Tracking live deliveries and sharing updates with stakeholders
The Person
* Previous experience within a transport planning role
* Confident use of transport management systems and route planning tools
* Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Clear communication and effective negotiation skills
* Awareness of transport rules and compliance expectations
