Learning Support Assistants - East Manchester

Cover People are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work across a variety of mainstream primary, secondary, SEND, and specialist provisions throughout East Manchester .
We are working closely with schools across areas including Openshaw, Clayton, Gorton, Newton Heath, Beswick, Droylsden, Audenshaw, and surrounding communities, where there is growing demand for dedicated support staff who can make a positive impact on pupils with additional learning, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Schools across East Manchester are known for their inclusive ethos, strong pastoral support, and commitment to ensuring every child feels supported, valued, and able to succeed. Many settings place a strong emphasis on relationship-building, emotional wellbeing, and creating engaging learning environments for pupils from a wide range of backgrounds.

* Graduates or individuals looking to move into education
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, autism, SEMH, ADHD, behavioural needs, or complex needs is beneficial, but not essential. Schools are equally looking for resilient, patient, and adaptable individuals who can build positive relationships and provide consistent support to pupils.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, your responsibilities may include:
* Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with additional needs
* Supporting classroom learning alongside the class teacher
* Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
* Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
* Helping implement EHCP and intervention targets
* Creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
* Supporting pupils both academically and socially throughout the school day
