We are looking for an experienced Intermediate OR Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hybrid role, with flexibility to work from home while attending the Nottingham office a few times per week.
Develop and design mechanical building services systems, including Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Public Health and Plant Rooms.
Produce detailed design packages: schematics, layouts, calculations, and specifications
Deliver mechanical designs across project stages (Stage 3 – Stage 5)
Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards, regulations, and energy efficiency targets
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary design teams for integrated building services solutions
Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure the quality and compliance of installations
Attend client meetings and liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and consultants
Minimum 4 years’ experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy or contractor environment
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD for mechanical services drawings (essential)
Experience with Revit MEP (preferred) — or willingness to develop skills
Proven experience delivering detailed mechanical design at Stage 4+
Strong technical understanding of mechanical design principles and UK regulations
Ability to manage multiple projects, work to deadlines, and maintain attention to detail
Based in Nottinghamshire or within daily commuting distance to Nottingham city centre
Hybrid working – Flexibility between home and Nottingham office.
