Tiello has partnered with a nationally recognized Commercial Security Systems Integrator known for its commitment to employee development and industry-leading retention rates. We are seeking a Security Systems Engineer in the Greater Boston area. This position is ideal for an experienced field technician who is ready to transition into a leadership-oriented engineering role focused on system design, technical support, and pre-construction planning
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as a primary technical liaison between field operations and the engineering department.
* Lead pre-wire planning, equipment layouts, and create detailed documentation for installation teams.
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting across departments and assist in resolving system integration challenges.
* Configure and program IP-based video surveillance, access control, and intrusion systems.
* Assist in the design and deployment of integrated security solutions for commercial and enterprise-level projects.
* Participate in system commissioning, network setup, and client handoff processes.
* Maintain and update system schematics, riser diagrams, and as-built documentation.
* Develop training programs, create user documentation, and provide ongoing technical support.
* Work closely with project teams, vendors, and contractors to optimize system performance and service agreements.
* Apply camera licensing, manage VMS applications, and stay up to date with advancing technologies in security integration.
Skills & Qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience in the low-voltage industry, including field installation, servicing, programming, system integration, and support.
* Proficiency in IP video surveillance, access control, and security system design.
* Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including switch configuration, IP addressing, and basic routing.
* Familiarity with major platforms such as AXIS, Avigilon, Brivo, Verkada, Genetec, LenelS2, or Milestone.
* Working knowledge of structured cabling standards, device placement, and system commissioning.
* Industry certifications are a plus (e.g., AXIS Certified Professional, Avigilon, Brivo, BICSI).
* Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate across teams.
