What does the role involve?
Reporting into our Head of Supplier Relationship Management you'll work alongside colleagues to maximise the in-life value of a portfolio of automotive categories such as our garage network, tyres, accident management or vehicle breakdown & recovery. You'll proactively manage these supplier relationships, ensuring service level agreements are being met, contractual performance metrics are being delivered and that suppliers are providing fantastic outcomes for our customers. Within your portfolio you'll manage risk appropriately, explore opportunities for cost efficiencies, and in collaboration with key business stakeholders drive the development of continuous improvement through game changing innovation.
Some of your key duties will also include:
* Establishing the root cause of any issues through regular liaison with key internal stakeholders and suppliers, developing service improvement plans if required
* Continual supplier research and development to optimise the value add opportunities within the service provision portfolio
* Visiting suppliers across the UK to build meaningful, long term relationships that keep the best interests of our customers at heart
* Line management responsibilities
What are we looking for?
To be considered for this role you'll be able to demonstrate the successful management of suppliers within the automotive/vehicle leasing/fleet management industry. You'll be a natural relationship builder, someone who keeps the needs of the customer at the forefront of their thinking with the commercial acumen and professionalism to challenge suppliers appropriately.
Also, we're looking for the following:
* The ability to make sound commercial decisions within the wider business context
* A collaborative individual who has the skillset to effectively influence senior colleagues throughout the business
* An understanding and awareness of automotive industry trends and factors that can impact on supplier performance
* Previous people management experience
