Emotional and Mental Health Support Worker
Are you an individual who is passionate about supporting children with their mental health needs? This role is based in a school in Maidenhead and offers valuable experience while making a difference to the lives of vulnerable children who may experience trauma, anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD and other mood disorders.
You will help create a positive and safe learning environment and support students to manage and cope with their emotions and mental health. You will assist in delivering engaging lessons and helping to make learning concrete.
Your day-to-day duties will involve supporting and shadowing the class teacher and providing 1:1 support for SEN students. You may also help run exciting lessons to keep the classroom engaging. Behavioural management may be required.
The role is suited to someone who is resilient and confident in supporting young people with challenging mental health needs. This is a good opportunity for aspiring psychologists, social workers, therapists and counsellors. Experience with vulnerable children is desirable but not essential. A background in sports, art or drama can be advantageous, and graduates in relevant fields will be considered.
