The school provides tailored support for children and teenagers with specialised diagnoses including autism, ADHD, communication challenges, learning difficulties, and mental health needs.
Role Overview
As a Learning Support Mentor, you will play a key role in building the confidence and self‑esteem of each pupil whilst supporting their academic progress, social development, and personal growth. To cater to each student’s needs you will need to be flexible and adapt your communication style. This is an excellent opportunity for a patient and compassionate individual passionate about making a meaningful difference.
Opportunity for Graduates
This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate looking to gain experience in psychology or a related specialist field. By working in this role you will develop insight into therapeutic interventions and techniques designed to support children with disabilities, and have the chance to explore sensory therapy, play therapy, and speech and language practices, including the use of Makaton and sign language.
Qualifications and Experience
Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults would be beneficial. A degree in a related field, such as psychology or criminology, would also be beneficial but not essential.
