The People and Culture Assistant provides essential administrative and coordination support to the People & Culture team, contributing across the full employee lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone at the early stages of their HR career who is highly organised, people-focused, personable, and eager to develop experience across HR operations, recruitment support, and employee engagement initiatives.
The role plays a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day HR processes while helping to deliver a positive and seamless employee experience.
This role is worked across five days per week (Monday to Friday). Flexible working arrangements, including shorter working days (e.g. 9:00am–3:00pm), will be considered.
HR administration & operations
* Maintain accurate and up to date employee records (HR system, personnel files, contracts)
* Support onboarding and offboarding processes (contracts, right to work checks, file set ups, references and inductions)
* Support absence management administration (sickness, holiday, parental leave)
* Ensure HR documentation and policies are kept up to date
* Post HR updates on Fusion Reactor.
Recruitment support
* Support recruitment campaigns by:
* Posting job adverts
* Collating, reviewing and communicating with candidates and recruiters
* Coordinating interviews
* Carry out reference checks and pre-employment checks.
* Support the offer and onboarding processes.
* Maintenance of internal jobs board.
Employee experience & engagement
* Be a friendly first point of contact for basic HR queries
* Support employee engagement initiatives, wellbeing activities, and internal communications
* Assist with learning and development administration (Booking training etc.)
* Managing phone calls, emails, enquiries, and requests in the P&C Manager’s absence.
Placement Students
* Support coordination with universities, careers services, and placement offices.
* Liaise with internal teams to ensure the posting of placement opportunities on university job boards and relevant platforms, including the Fusion Website.
* Maintain relationships with university contacts and track application progress.
* Assist in organising Fusion’s attendance at careers fairs.
* Liaise with internal teams to schedule interviews for shortlisted candidates
* Prepare offer letters and placement agreements.
* Assist with the completion of any university required documentation and questionnaires.
* Ensure Fusion’s placement documentation and policies are kept up to date
* Be a friendly first point of contact for basic HR queries for the students throughout their lifecycle at Fusion.

* Support compliance with employment legislation and internal policies
* Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards at all times

* Full UK Driving License. Able to drive between our two sites in Milton Keynes and Ampthill.
