Factory Technical Manager
Food Manufacturing
Hull
£65,000
There’s a huge site in East Yorkshire – it runs well, has plenty of opportunity, but is missing someone like you.
They’ve realised there’s a gap between the day-to-day factory stuff and the bigger, group-level work their Site Technical Lead should be doing. That’s where you come in.
This is a new role. Not a backfill, not a reshuffle - brand new. Your job is to keep the site running smoothly, lead the quality teams, and free up the Site Technical Lead to take on more strategic work.
In other words, you’ll be the number two - but in a site that’s one of the biggest and best in the UK, that’s not a small job.
It’s also a clear path to succession. You’ll deputise, learn, and when the time comes, be ready to step up.
It’s a factory-facing role - mostly about people, process, and quality. You’ll spend time with your quality management teams, but also with major retail and B2B customers, so you’ll need to know your way around both.
You’ll probably already be a Senior QA Manager or Technical Manager in food manufacturing. You’ll know retail own label, have led big quality teams, and have a track record of developing people - not just managing them.
It’s not an easy gig and not a product type for everyone. Big site, lots of moving parts, plenty of personalities. But if you want a role that stretches you, develops you, and sets you up for that next step - this is it.
