The Role
A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Bristol office. The role supports a growing workload of technically complex projects within the defence and research sectors, alongside high-spec research and design-led fit-out schemes.
You will take a senior role in the delivery of electrical building services design, contributing to project leadership, technical excellence, and team development.
Project Portfolio
* Secure defence-sector projects requiring security clearance
* Two high-spec fit-out projects within research and design environments
* A strong forward pipeline of multidisciplinary building services work
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver electrical building services design from concept through to completion
* Prepare and review technical calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications
* Design electrical systems including LV distribution, lighting, power, emergency lighting, and fire alarm systems
* Coordinate designs with mechanical, public health, and structural engineers
* Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and external consultants
* Ensure compliance with UK regulations and industry standards
About You
* Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
* Chartered or working towards Chartership (CIBSE / IET or equivalent)
* Proven experience in electrical building services design
* Experience working on defence, secure, or research facilities is desirable
* UK national with eligibility to obtain security clearance (essential)
* Strong technical, communication, and coordination skills
