HR Assistant
Pay Scale: Band B - Band D, negotiable, depending on experience
Hours: 37 hrs per week; Monday to Thursday 8am - 4pm, Friday 8am - 3.30pm, Term time plus 1 week per year (1 extra paid week after 5 years of service)

Treetops School has been judged outstanding by Ofsted in its most recent inspection in March 2025. The School continues to maintain high standards across teaching, learning and support for students with moderate to severe learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Safer Recruitment
* Support recruitment processes, including drafting job adverts, arranging interviews, and issuing offer letters.
* Ensure compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance.
* Process DBS checks via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
* Maintain the Single Central Record (SCR).
* Verify right to work documentation in line with UK regulations.
HR Administration
* Prepare contracts, amendments to contract letters and probation documentation.
* Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files (electronic and paper).
* Update staff records on the school's HR system (e.g. Arbor).
* Monitor staff absence and support absence management processes, including meetings with staff.
* Assist with maternity, paternity, adoption and flexible working requests.
* Provide HR-related advice and first‑line support to staff.
* Prepare reports and HR data as requested.
Payroll & Pensions Support
* Advise payroll providers of starters, leavers and contractual changes.
Work Experience and Volunteering
* Coordinate work experience and voluntary placements.
* Monitor staff attendance.
* Conduct welfare meetings with staff.
* Manage and submit Occupational Health referrals.
General Administration
* Provide general administrative support as part of the school office team.
* Cover school reception when required.
* Undertake fire marshal duties.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the line manager.
