Care coordinator required for busy care agency Home Care Preferred is a quality home care provider and we are recruiting a dedicated and committed care coordinator to join our dynamic team based in Barnet. The role of a care coordinator is one of the most important roles within the company, involving the care and support of all clients and caregivers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and allocation of care calls for caregivers using our sophisticated computer programme. Caregivers are assigned to service users, according to Home Care Preferred policies and procedures, and the care coordinator then works to ensure that all care calls are filled on a daily basis as well as when there are times of staff sickness or holiday. The care coordinators role will involve: Assigning care workers to clients Liaising with and providing support to Supervisors and the Registered Manager Responsibility for certain data input relating to specified area as changes occur Ensuring that holiday/sickness and emergency calls are assigned and recorded Preparation of reports and handling emergency incidents as required To assist with the running of the out of hours on-call service as required Key competencies of the Care Coordinator include: To be able to plan and allocate the workload of care staff To be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships To be able to prepare accurate reports and efficiently handle emergency incidents as required Good communication skills and time management Sound understanding of good care principles Ability to cope under pressure Calm and patient Ability to display empathy and understanding Flexible and reliable The Care Coordinator must: Hold a full driving license Live local to North London in order to attend to on-call services Excellent planning, organisational skills and strong administration experience Skills in care planning Desirable qualities of the care coordinator: NVQ 2 Professional qualification Experience as a supervisor or senior care worker or care coordinator within a care providing organisation.
