Business Unit Manager

The Role:
The Business unit Manager is expected to inspire, lead, and coordinate the Operational functions, based on Company Strategy, Policies, and Departmental Objectives, ensuring an efficient and seamless working environment where deadlines and objectives are consistently met or exceeded.
Duties include:
* Take overall responsibility for the business unit, setting direction and leading its performance, condition, culture, teams’development, and quality of product and service.
* Set day to day KPI’s for each department to ensure all businessrequirements are met or exceeded. These KPI’s are to include cost of manufacture, quality, people, and compliance.
* Deliver and maintain 3rd party accreditation and legislative requirements.
* Develop and maintain a robust auditing programme that meets those requirements, ensuring that all departments keep meaningful records which are up to date.
* Ensure the business unit is always audit ready.
* Ensure the Quality Management System is executed in daily operations.
* Day to day financial accountability
* Ensure best in industry standards and customer satisfaction though day to day operations.
* Setting of day-to-day KPI’s, whilst establishing effective monitoring systems and ensuring corrective action is taken if are targets not met.
* Execute company strategy driving a programme of continuous improvement in line with GM targets.
* Implement and oversee training calendar for all operational departments with succession plans.
* Coach & Develop our Site Leadership Team
* Ensure all operational staff are being effectively managed and are engaged.
* Oversee the implementation and adherence to QMS.
* Oversee the implementation and adherence to the HS&E plan.
The Person:
* Previous Production management experience within the food / packaging industry
* Demonstrate strong leadership and coaching skills - be passionate about people and their development.
* Demonstrate excellent organisation, problem solving and planning skills - have implemented good systems and processes, influencing behavioural change.
* Demonstrable experience of delivering improvements in reduction of waste, labour cost, machine efficiencies, etc
* Proactive cooperation - the ability to work collaboratively with Technical, Sales and maintenance demonstrating commitment to achieve group objectives.
