We’re excited to offer an incredible opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join our dedicated and professional team in Poole!
As Engineering Manager, you will lead the Asset Care function to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient asset performance that supports site production and business objectives. A key member of the site leadership team, you will ensure engineering compliance, performance, and capability align with the Asset Care Performance Model. Working closely with the Regional Head of Engineering, you will drive alignment with group standards, capital priorities, and continuous improvement, demonstrating strong technical expertise, people leadership, and a commitment to sustainable asset care excellence.
Role Details
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm
Role Type: Permanent, Full Time Role
Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum
Your Duties Will Include
* Food Safety, Quality & Compliance: Ensure engineering ownership of food safety, GMP, and hygienic design, maintaining assets, utilities, and documentation to meet legal, audit, and Asset Care Performance Model standards.
* Health, Safety & Environment: Lead a safety-first culture, maintaining statutory compliance, safe systems of work, and environmental initiatives that reduce energy use, waste, and risk.
* Asset Performance: Drive preventative and reactive maintenance excellence through CMMS accuracy, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement to deliver OEE, reliability, and waste reduction targets.
* Financial Management: Control engineering budgets, contractors, and spares inventory; support capital projects and apply lifecycle costing to optimise performance and spend.
* Resource Leadership: Plan and develop the engineering team through structured training, performance management, and engagement to build capability and accountability.
* Governance & Standards: Ensure compliance with the Asset Care Performance Model through robust documentation, daily reviews, change control, and full audit readiness.
Your Skills and Experience
* Qualifications
o HNC/HND or degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
o IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualification desirable.
o Project management training or certification advantageous.
* Experience
o Proven engineering leadership experience within manufacturing, preferably food or FMCG.
o Demonstrated success in improving equipment reliability, planned maintenance adherence, and CMMS compliance.
o Experience managing engineering budgets, stock control, and contractor performance.
o Familiarity with capital project delivery, governance processes, and audit compliance.
* Skills
o Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
o Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis capability.
o Effective communicator able to influence across site and regional teams.
o Financial awareness to manage costs and assess investment returns.
o Organised, disciplined, and aligned to governance-led working.
