Overview
The Mental Health Support Teams in Schools (MHST) were established to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community in response to the government’s Green Paper for Young People’s Mental Health. We are seeking an inspirational and experienced leader to head our Mental Health Support in Schools Team for Blandford and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of professionals working within educational settings, including those training to be Education Mental Health Practitioners and qualified practitioners.
* Work alongside the Service Lead, other Team Leads and the Senior Management Team to develop the team and ensure the highest quality of care for children, young people and families.
* Take clinical and line management responsibility for staff, ensuring delivery of a high‑quality, child‑ and young person‑focused service.
* Support the clinical development of team members to provide accessible and responsive services that promote participation of children, young people, families and carers.
* Work in partnership with education and Local Authority colleagues, attending meetings and panels, and promoting joint working practices.
* Collaborate with Team Leads across the service to ensure the provision to schools and educational institutions is needs‑led.
Qualifications
* Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required – cost covered by the Trust; applicants able to present an existing DBS certificate through the DBS update service may do so.
* Applicants requiring current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible.
