Consultant Anaesthetist with interest in Obstetrics
We are looking to appoint a full-time Consultant Anaesthetist with interest in obstetrics. The job plan comprises of a weekly average of 7.6 PAs of clinical work spread over specialties, 1.4 PAs for on call and 1.5 SPAs. Further job plan details can be found within the job description.
Main Duties Includes
* Deliver and maintain highest clinical standards in the specialty of anaesthesia and emergency obstetrics
* Play an active role in clinical governance and audit, supporting a culture of continuous improvement and learning
* Maintain high standards of continuing professional development and medical education
* Deliver quality teaching and training
* To teach and mentor trainees.
* To contribute to quality improvement; risk management initiatives and policy development so that the overall Anaesthesia Service is of the highest quality and reflective of best practice.
* To participate in work related projects.
* To adhere to Hospital Policies and Procedures.
* To comply with Health and Safety Regulations, ensuring safe working practices in a safe working environment

The team comprises of 40 Consultants, 16 SAS Grades, up to 16 Trainees, 3 Acute Pain Nurses and 4 administrative staff. The successful appointee will work as an integral part of the team and have equal access to junior staff.
