About the role
Balfour Beatty ar elooking for an Information Manager to join their Power T&D Division. Based in Scotland.
Role Purpose
Responsible for establishing governance and assuring data and information flow to and from the common data environments (CDE). Reviewing Employers Information Requirements (EIR) then produce and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Information Management Plans and other related documents (MIDP for example).
The Information Manager will manage the Common Data Environment, ensuring all project information is available and up to date. They will encourage collaborative working, information exchange and aid the project team throughout.
The Information Manager has no design related duties.
What you'll be doing
Scope of Role
* 70% Information Management, 10% Analysis, 20% Improvement (anecdotal percentages)
BIM Scope
* Responsible for managing information for one or more projects
* Comply with role scope for relevant accreditation i.e. ISO19650
Task Team Manager
* Task Team IM Role appointments
* Owning the Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP) and ensuring correct execution
* Reviewing and approving the information produced by the Task Team against the task brief
* Consult Employers Representative on capturing any specific standards, methods and /or procedures required by the Customer
* Work collaboratively with the Design/Construction Lead on defining the Volume Strategy and assigning the appropriate Level of definition
* Documenting and validating the Information Requirements with the lead Supplier's EIR(s)
Accountabilities
* Creation and execution of the BEP and IMP
* Maintain and support task teams with MIDP and TIDP
* Work to the IMP and ensure Asset Information Requirements are planned for and managed
* Manage and communicate the processes and procedures for information exchange on projects through the CDE and ensure compliance
* Report and communicate progress of information (development & exchange) as defined in the IMP
* Attend all project meetings where necessary; Information Management start up meeting held by the Information Manager
* Proactively confirm supplier's ability to deliver information requirements
* Liaise with and co-operate with Project Team Members and the Employer in support of a collaborative working culture
. Provide coaching/assistance on the implementation of the chosen CDE
Who we're looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:
* BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng, HND/HDC or qualified by experience with an understanding and proven delivery of infrastructure or Building managing multiple processes / schemes
* NVQ – Level 5 or 2-5 years of project/industry experience
* An understanding of the latest industry guidelines for Information Management (namely the ISO_19650 series)
* Good communication skills (spoken & written) with an ability to form effective relationships with project stakeholders
* Demonstrate strong technical ability with the use of Digital software applications
* Demonstrate experience of training others
* Demonstrate analytical experience
* Able to work under time pressure
* Experience of collaborating with the project teams, supply chain partners and Customer
* Keen to learn, dvelop and support members of the digital team
The following qualities/experience are desirable based upon project requirements:
* Professional membership
* Autodesk application experience
* GIS application experience
* Strong excel and/or Power Bi capability
