What the Job Involves The Maintenance Surveyor plays a key role in contributing to the Royal Borough of Kingston's strategic priorities by ensuring effective maintenance and responsive repairs of housing, communal areas, garages, and void properties. This includes overseeing health and safety inspections, managing aids and adaptations works, addressing legal housing disrepair cases, and employing strong diagnostic skills to tackle damp and mould issues. The role involves working collaboratively with various teams and external partners to deliver seamless repairs and maintenance services while ensuring compliance with all statutory obligations. Furthermore, the Maintenance Surveyor is responsible for managing budgets, conducting site inspections, and improving service delivery processes for better customer satisfaction. Skills Accreditation with RICS or CIOB Knowledge of planned and responsive maintenance Experience in housing repairs and construction Strong diagnostic and technical skills Proficiency in IT and maintenance software Ability to manage budgets and schedules Excellent communication and presentation skills Capability to work collaboratively with partners Knowledge of building contracts and statutory obligations Experience with voids, disrepairs, and complaint handling Clean driving license and access to a vehicle Ability to ascend ladders and access scaffolding
