About the role
Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a fantastic opportunity for a Highways Handover Lead (Regional) to join our Highways team to work across the South region.

We provide high quality asset strategy, management, and planning consultancy services to a wide range of public and private sector customers. We provide specialist, reliable, sustainable, and creative advice for asset management planning and implementation in the UK. We put our customers first and prioritise completing schemes safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
The Highways Regional lead will provide support to NEAR, M1 J10-13, M4/M5, M20, M25 J10. Responsible to the projects for the effective certification and timely handover of all Highways projects on a regional scale.
What you'll be doing
Some other key responsibilities will be:
1. Lead the Handover teams who are responsible for the management of handover deliverables across the various frameworks, on a regional scale.
2. Follow projects through to completion and support the certification and handover of the schemes through implementation of the certification strategy.
3. Understand all key stakeholder needs and establish vision and clear direction for the project team.
4. Define handover requirements and deliverables with all stakeholders during project mobilisation phase.
5. Provide regular progress reports to the Highways Leadership Team
6. Facilitate the completion of applicable governance processes in support of handover, at agreed milestone dates.
7. Conduct in-depth lessons learnt workshops following project close-out.
8. Ensure effective stakeholder engagement and communication throughout delivery.
9. Be a subject matter expert and offer advice, support, technical and contractual assistance to all interested parties on certification and handover related matters.
10. Ensure quality assurance throughout the design, manufacture, fabrication, construction, and handover phases of the projects.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
11. Experience working within complex and major infrastructure projects within the construction industry.
12. Practical experience in Quality Management
13. Strong working knowledge of UK and international standards (i.e., ISO 9001 and 19650)
14. Commercial/contractual awareness
15. Advanced IT skills
16. Excellent leadership skills
