Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and creating inclusive learning experiences?
A warm, welcoming, and diverse primary school in Eastbourne is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine impact in the lives of children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), offering tailored support to help each child thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Work alongside the class teacher to implement personalised strategies and scaffolding for pupils with SEN.
Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support across the curriculum to encourage engagement and progress.
Contribute to an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment where every child feels valued.
Assist pupils in developing emotional and behavioural regulation using proven strategies.
Prepare differentiated learning resources that are accessible and tailored to individual needs.
Support students with communication challenges, helping them access the curriculum effectively.
Collaborate with staff to create and maintain individualised learning plans.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience supporting children with SEN – ideally in a school setting, though other relevant experience is also considered.
Strong understanding of EHCPs, inclusion strategies, and how to effectively scaffold learning.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with pupils, staff, and families.
A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach with a strong commitment to inclusion.
Confidence in supporting emotional regulation and pupil wellbeing.
A current DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
