We are supporting an established independent logistics provider in the search for an experienced Business Development Manager to contribute to continued growth.
The business delivers end-to-end freight forwarding solutions across Sea, Road and Air, working with a broad range of customers to provide practical and cost-effective logistics support.
This role will suit a commercially minded individual who is confident developing new business opportunities and managing relationships across the full sales cycle.
The Role
* Identify and develop new business opportunities across Sea Freight, Road Freight and Air Freight services.
* Build and manage a pipeline of prospective customers across a UK-wide territory.
* Engage with importers, exporters and supply chain decision-makers to understand logistics requirements.
* Prepare tailored quotations covering multimodal freight solutions.
* Attend client meetings and present suitable shipping options across sea, road and air.
* Develop long-term customer relationships to support account growth.
* Work towards agreed sales and gross profit targets.
The Business
Operating as an independent forwarder, the company can provide flexible and solutions-led logistics services rather than standardised offerings.
This allows the sales team to approach opportunities across multiple freight modes, helping customers optimise transit time, cost and reliability.
The role offers autonomy to develop business nationally while working within a stable and collaborative team environment.
Requirements
* Previous Business Development experience within freight forwarding.
* Strong working knowledge of Sea, Road and Air freight operations.
* Track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
* Ability to build pipeline and develop new customer relationships.
* Organised, self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
