Position: Teaching Assistant

Salary: GBP13.69 TO GBP15.87 PER HOUR
Working hours: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (7 hours per day)

We are looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to work in an alternative provision supporting pupils aged 11 to 16 with a range of complex needs. This full-time, long-term role is perfect for a Teaching Assistant who thrives in a dynamic and nurturing environment and is eager to help students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with various SEND needs, including SEMH, ASD, communication difficulties, and behavioural challenges.
* Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored learning and behaviour management strategies.
* Support pupils in staying engaged with classroom activities and promote their social and emotional development.
* Help create a structured and supportive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of the students.
* Provide additional support during unstructured times, such as break and lunch periods, to encourage positive interactions.
Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEND pupils, is highly desirable.
* A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to working with young people.
* Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
* A commitment to promoting inclusion and helping students develop confidence and independence.
