Position Overview:
We are scaling our engineering team to support our latest strategic growth initiatives.
We are looking for an experienced CFD Application Engineer with a strong and proven background in Cadence CFD technologies, including Fidelity CFD and related high-fidelity simulation tools. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience using and supporting Cadence software and is confident working directly with clients to deliver technical solutions, consultancy support, and structured training.
As a CFD Application Engineer at Mansim, you will play a key role in supporting customers who use Cadence tools for advanced fluid dynamics, heat transfer, turbomachinery, marine, and digital twin simulations. You will help clients successfully implement simulation workflows, troubleshoot complex modelling challenges, and maximise the value of their software investment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical support to clients using Cadence CFD solutions, including troubleshooting model setup, solver behaviour, and post-processing issues.
• Support consultancy projects delivered using Cadence tools, contributing to simulation setup, validation, and interpretation of results.
• Deliver structured training sessions and technical workshops to customers on Cadence CFD software.
• Assist customers with geometry preparation, meshing (including Pointwise), solver configuration, and workflow optimisation.
• Support high-fidelity simulations using tools such as Fidelity CFD and CharLES where applicable.
• Contribute to marine, turbomachinery, and thermal management applications using Cadence technologies.
• Assist with digital twin and data centre modelling workflows using Future Facilities / 6SigmaDCX solutions where relevant.
• Help prepare clear technical reports, guidance documents, and training materials.
• Maintain organised project documentation to ensure traceability and repeatability.
• Work closely with Cadence technical teams when advanced escalation or product feedback is required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of internal workflows, automation scripts, and best-practice guidelines.
• Support technical pre-sales activities where required, including demonstrations, feasibility studies, and example simulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Marine Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline (PhD welcome but not required).
• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and turbulence modelling.
• Proven hands-on experience with Cadence CFD software, including Fidelity CFD.
• Experience with Pointwise for high-quality mesh generation.
• Familiarity with CharLES or other high-fidelity/LES workflows within the Cadence ecosystem is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting or delivering CFD projects using Cadence tools in an industrial environment.
• Ability to independently diagnose and resolve modelling and convergence issues.
• Familiarity with HPC environments and parallel computing.
• Programming or scripting experience (Python, bash, or similar) is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to confidently explain complex technical concepts to engineers and technical decision-makers.
