Transport Coordinator - Cambridge

This is a critical role at the heart of our UK transport operation. You’ll be responsible for coordinating time- and temperature-sensitive shipments, ensuring deliveries are made safely, efficiently, and on time.
Working in a fast-paced environment, you will balance operational performance, regulatory compliance, and customer expectations—playing a key role in keeping our logistics network running smoothly.
Role Responsibilities Overview:
* Delivering reliable, on-time transport operations through effective route planning and coordination
* Optimising routes and resources to reduce costs while maintaining service quality
* Monitoring live operations and resolving issues quickly to avoid disruption
* Ensuring full compliance with transport regulations and company procedures
* Managing driver schedules and utilisation to maximise productivity and minimise inefficiencies
* Coordinating subcontractors and suppliers to maintain service continuity and control costs
* Investigating service issues and implementing improvements to enhance performance over time
* Maintaining strong communication across teams to ensure visibility and alignment

Work Environment:
* Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30
* Fully onsite at our Cambridge office in Sawston (CB22 3EG)

What You’ll Bring:
* Experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or similar operational roles
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple demands
* Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-moving environment
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capability
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance
* A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership
* Full UK driving licence
* Knowledge of UK/EU transport regulations (e.g. tachographs, working time rules) is desirable
* Previous experience in life sciences, cold chain, or regulated logistics is helpful
Additional Information:
* No direct line management responsibility, but a key role in coordinating drivers and external partners
* Significant influence on day-to-day operational performance and cost control
* A central role in ensuring customers receive critical, time-sensitive shipments without delay
