About the role
Benefact Group, are looking for a Finance Operations Manager to join our Gloucester office.
As Finance Operations Manager you lead, shape and drive key services, efficiencies, and process improvements across Finance Operations.
You’ll be a key part of the Finance Operations team, playing a crucial role in helping us to ensure the business is supported with anything related to payments, collections, authorities, treasury, banking, cash flows, operational controls as well as providing administrative support for our payment platforms and systems.
This role is varied, and you will be involved in supporting the business with understanding finance requirements in relation to a wide selection of projects and change initiatives which are underway across the Group and within the Finance function itself.

Key responsibilities
* Lead, shape and drive key services in relation to payments, collections, authorities and the controls surrounding the processes
* Support multiple initiatives and projects across the group, working with finance and non-finance colleagues to deliver against defined outcomes, ensuring all finance requirements are met
* Support the development and implementation of a treasury strategy and function within the group, in order to manage surplus cash more effectively
* Lead and be responsible for banking administration, including user permissions, maintenance of bank mandates, opening new accounts and general account maintenance including Bacs support
* Ensure finance teams are using the appropriate systems and tools to deliver an excellent service to the group
* Manage administrative support for payment platforms and finance systems, ensuring users receive appropriate access levels for their role within the group
* Provide support and guidance to users on payment platforms used within finance operations
* Stay up to date with changes in finance payment regulations, collections and banking requirements whilst advising the group on the impact of changes, and providing solutions to ensure compliance
* Support group businesses to enable a flexible and high standard of service to customers, suppliers and key internal business areas. Develop and maintain frameworks where appropriate to ensure accuracy, timeliness and efficiency of finance processes
* Manage controls and standards to ensure compliance with key operating procedures and policies, and delivery against SLAs
* Promote continual process improvement across the team and ensure processes and tasks are constantly evolving to deliver maximum efficiency for the group
Knowledge, skills and experience
* Strong operational finance knowledge of payments, collections, banking and treasury
* Knowledge of finance payment platforms and processes that are used for collecting and paying money including direct debits, direct credits, credit cards, electronic payments and cheques
* Strong communicator across a variety of stakeholders
* Ability to draft, contribute to and review project and board papers to support stakeholders
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple streams of work at any one time
* Ability to grasp and walk-through processes identifying gaps, improvements and any changes required
* Ability to understand specifications and identify requirements and highlight potential gaps
* Confident in addressing and escalating matters with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve issues
* Strong attention to detail
* Strong Excel skills
* A good understanding of risk and control and how to mitigate those risks. This will relate to the finance operations processes and include PCI compliance, segregation, money laundering and fraud
