Support Worker – Full time position available

We are recruiting for Support Workers, who can work in Ashwell Lodge in Boscombe. Ashwell Lodge is a high support accommodation service, providing safe, comfortable housing for adults, aged 18+, with a mental health diagnosis. Our support workers are available onsite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help people develop the skills needed for independent living. We believe that mental illness should never be a barrier to achieving goals and dreams and residents are supported to make progress in their recovery in an environment that meets their individual support needs.

We are looking for experienced individuals who are passionate and committed to making a positive change to our residents' lives. Libre Living provide a supportive and collaborative working environment where you can develop in your career and feel incredibly rewarded by helping those who need it.

We are recruiting for full time positions; however, all applicants should be flexible and be able to do shift work, including sleep ins, weekend work and Bank Holidays. Overtime opportunities are available.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Support Worker Key Responsibilities

These responsibilities are for guidance and do not incorporate every duty of this position. As the needs of the business will change and evolve, the job description is subject to change.

· Provide a supportive and nurturing environment for all residents, helping them to develop independence and life skills.

· Plan and deliver activities and programmes to meet the needs and interests of the residents.

· Work collaboratively with other Team members, external agencies, and professionals to ensure that the physical and emotional needs of the residents are met.

· Complete and maintain accurate records in line with legal and regulatory requirements and Company policies.

· Help develop and implement support plans, risk assessments and other documents to support the delivery of high-quality care and ensure these are reviewed at appropriate intervals.

· Undertake any additional training or professional development required to improve knowledge and understanding.

· Ensure that all necessary appointments are arranged

· Uphold the values, principles, and policies of Libre Living and maintain high standards of professionalism and ethical behaviour.

· Understanding of the need for professional confidentiality

· A positive approach to tackling tasks

· Ability to work on own initiative and in co-operation with other Team Members

· A high level of patience and emotional resilience.

· Great problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt and act accordingly to situations.

· Good time management skills to be able to support the needs of multiple people.

· The ability to remain calm under pressure and when dealing with challenging situations.

· Empathy and understanding

· Ability to work flexibly.

· Willingness to access training opportunities

· Good self-awareness and a desire to continuously seek ways to improve.

· Knowledge of and commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice

Additional requirements

All candidates must be able to provide proof of their right to work in this country.

· Good standard of education (GCSE, NVQ level 2 or equivalent)

· Training relevant to the post

· Relevant previous or current employment or voluntary work preferred.

· Enhanced DBS

DBS checks will be completed for all applicants that do not have an enhanced DBS. All team members will be required to sign up to the DBS Update service. The Company will pay the cost of an initial DBS and the update service fee.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

· Job Type: Full-time/Permanent

· Salary: £12.42 -£12.83 per hour- Depending on Qualifications (£12.21 per hour for sleep in)

· Hours: Overtime may be available

· Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks

· Day shift

· Night shift

· Overnight shift/ Sleep in's

· Weekend and Bank Holiday shifts

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.42 per hour
