About the role
The Director of Development is a pivotal leadership role for Advancement, and for UCL’s wider leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing UCL's philanthropic strategy, fostering strong relationships with a diverse range of internal and external partners, and driving the university's development programme.
The role holder will lead a team of high-performing fundraisers to secure gifts for research, scholarships and capital projects, from a mix of individuals, Foundations, Trusts and companies. You will lead five portfolios - our Major Gifts (Health), Major Gifts (Faculties), Legacy Giving, International and Strategic Philanthropy Programmes – responsible for an existing team of 25 staff and with further investment to grow the team in -25 and -26.

The successful candidate will bring significant fundraising leadership experience, including experience of working with academics and/or clinicians in the context of a highly complex organisation to manage effective philanthropic relationships. You will be entrepreneurial, creative, and fundamentally collaborative, with the ability to motivate teams to perform at their best.
