Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. This role is a Band 4 assistant practitioner with an interest in Orthopaedics, based primarily at Gartnavel General Hospital with cover to other sites in the South Sector.
Responsibilities
* Support the occupational therapy and physiotherapy staff in delivering a high quality service to patients.
* Work mainly in a ward environment, with variation possible depending on service and patient group.
* Carry your own patient caseload and treat patients following protocol-led guidelines.
* Engage with and motivate others; demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills; contribute to a strong team ethos.
* Participate in supervision and personal development planning to support continuous professional development.
Qualifications and experience
* Previous experience of working as a therapy support worker at Band 3 level is essential.
* Skills to engage and motivate others; strong communication and interpersonal abilities; commitment to health care.
* Flexibility and willingness to work as part of a team; training provided for clinical and non-clinical duties.
Working arrangements
* Post may require extended hours; work patterns can be discussed with candidates.
* Post primarily based at Gartnavel General Hospital with potential coverage at other South Sector sites.
