Overview of the Department/Section MUFG has a developing and thriving Transactional Banking business, headquartered in Tokyo and spanning all continents. Transaction Banking, EMEA (incorporating Europe, Middle East and Africa) forms part of MUFG’s Global Transaction Banking business. Our key responsibilities are to drive regional business and support global & regional clients with Transaction Banking solutions for Cash and Liquidity Management, Foreign Exchange, Trade Finance and Working Capital through a comprehensive suite of proprietary and 3rd party digital channels. We support our local and international cash management services for our Corporate, FI and NBFI client base. Transaction Banking EMEA solutions suite to our regional and global client franchise comprise of Trade Finance & Working Capital, Cash and Liquidity Management solutions and Transactional FX Balance sheet / financial resources management TB EMEA is organized across industry recognized pillars of TB product, sales, implementation, client services and account management, planning and risk functions with a responsibility for EMEA booked and EMEA HQ-ed network revenue across our 50-country international proprietary network. The TB EMEA Planning team serves as the business management function for Transaction Banking EMEA and a critical globally connected stakeholder community sharing and deploying best practice from around the globe in connection with the global TB strategy 3.0. Reporting line is to Deputy Head of Transaction Banking of EMEA and a secondary reporting to the Regional Product Head of Transaction Banking EMEA Main Purpose & Outcomes of the Role A successful TB specialist with minimum of 5 years’ experience in a TB EMEA Business Management / COO role from a regional product, COO, business management background will be instrumental in translating global and regional TB strategy into communicated execution and performance tracking. This role will be responsible for developing, diarizing & ensuring socialization and commitment of and by TB and stakeholder commitments, including Provision & communication of TB EMEA / HO Regional Priorities, Performance & Execution Progress; Strong financial and non-financial KPI / KRI establishment, socialization, attainment & mitigation actions; Production, interpretation & communication of actionable insights and relevant data strategy; Ensuring sustainability (and escalation) of revenue, cost & NoP, client segmentation; TB Target Operating model deliverables and bench-strength; Business Continuity, Operational Resilience and Cyber Security Policies & Adherence TB EMEA Engagement, Sustainability, CSR & Learning Programmes; With Deputy Head of Transaction Banking, act as key critical liaison for global Head Office strategies and its deployment impact and planning in EMEA for TB. The role also plays a central part in supporting the sustainable expansion, transformation & profitability of the T ransaction B anking EMEA business through the development of appropriate business reviews and continuous budget ‑ to ‑ actual management. Key Responsibilities Strategy & Execution: Lead the development, articulation & implementation of global & regional TB strategy in EMEA and with global counterparts- key priorities, KPI aligned to TB and EMEA objectives Business Management & Performance : Performance to Target management of TB EMEA BAU and strategic initiatives. Independent fluency in TB business, performance, revenue realization and risk and governance activities of a TB platform. Supporting the Head of Transaction Banking EMEA by having accountability and responsibility for the preparation of materials, documents and policies required to support initiatives, key meetings etc. Planning & financial / non financial risk analysis of regulatory changes; financial and cost oversight and performance management Governance, Risk & Control: ensure effective RCSA controls, framework adherence, attestations, BCP and SIIs are documented and adhered to. Ensure ongoing regulatory, conduct, compliance and internal policies adherence & escalations Target Operating Model Transformation: support TB EMEA leadership in the documentation, execution &communication of TB TOM changes, client journey transformation, including but not limited to job re-design; AI design & deployment; capacity vs skills planning; NOP optimization solutions Actionable Insights & Decision Support: create, communicate & embed actionable sights to support decision making, remediation & investment evaluations Stakeholder Engagement within EMEA front office, Functional and all 1LOD teams in region and global HO counterparts People & Culture External Representation: Representing an area of expertise in relevant meetings / committees / conferences to facilitate policy development and contribute to business performance. Developing strong internal/external networks and build trusted relationships to enable change and influence behaviour across MUFG. Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders / central point of contact / liaising with supporting functions such as Finance, Legal, Compliance, Tokyo Head Office, etc in relation to operating Transaction Banking business within EMEA Team Oversight, Training, & Engagement Accountability for the correct and thorough completion of deliverables produced by direct reports; training and development and engagement of direct reports & supporting TB enterprise engagement and rotational training & mobility assignments. Work Experience, Skills and Experience Functional / Technical Competencies: Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Minimum of 5 years at VP SME experience in a Transaction Banking Regional office in the capacity of regional Product & P&L management; COO or Business Management functions, which also include Risk and Control responsibilities across cash management, liquidity & FX, and trade finance and working capital solutions. Revenue and pipeline realization and reconciliation is valued. Financial control and management (target setting) with critical stakeholders ; revenue & Margin, capital, expense, group allocation methodologies, origination to “time to first revenue” expertise; capable to support investment prioritisation Foundational financial resources management derived through deep functional understanding product, balance sheet planning and revenue / client behavioural and billing life cycle of TB solutions, experience in understanding, challenging and influencing financial and client segmentation strategy Experience leading target operating model change, organisation design or transformation initiatives, including but not limited to AI deployment, near / off-shoring / client journey mapping & transformation support would be an advantage Actionable Insights and Decision support- ensure foundation deployment of MIS is produced at regional and global HO level to support effective & predictive business steering, story-telling and stakeholder engagement on progress to plan & impactful remediation / support articulation Excellent MS suite including, Co-pilot, Power BI & Tableau fluency, working familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce applications; interest and experience in agentic ai would be an advantage TB EMEA Product Governance, Risk and Control Responsibilities: Governance, Risk and Control: Experience of product governance and management of end to end risk management 1-3LOD framework and responsibilities within a TB environment, including RCSA, Operational and Conduct Risk Attestations Proactively identify, assess and remediate operational, conduct etc interconnected risks, from financial, client segmentation, operational and conduct Ability to manage and lead representation of the TB EMEA Risk Assessment Forum, TB EMEA contribution of the EMEA Product Governance Forum and representation of TB at other equivalent stakeholder equivalent meetings. Ensure fair treatment of customers and compliance with applicable regulations, directives, internal policies and standards.
