The role:
This role will provide full administrative support to the Professional Risks Underwriting Team.
Key Responsibilities:
In supporting the underwriting team's efforts in maintaining a successful and profitable account, you will be involved in the following tasks:
1. Full administration of FastTrack renewals including liaising with brokers to secure instructions and final processing of the business.
2. Dealing with a variety of Mid Term Adjustments Including Change of addresses, change of names and increased indemnity limits.
3. Production of a variety of reports for management.
4. Providing day-to-day support of the underwriting team in dealing with incoming telephone queries and where necessary ensuring that matters are referred to the appropriate underwriter.
5. Dealing with and resolving a variety of accounting queries including direct debit queries.
6. Processing of new business orders on behalf of underwriters.
7. General administration of the renewal process including chasing up of outstanding renewals.
8. Attending underwriting meetings and taking of minutes as required.
9. Undertake any other ad hoc activities/project work required.
Performance Objectives / Early Deliverables (first 3 to 6 months):
10. Demonstrate good communication. Liaising internally with Underwriters, management, and other teams within the company.
11. Be able to confidently use the underwriting system and understand its functionality (training will be provided).
12. Take minutes for the underwriter team meetings.
13. Be able to follow underwriting guidelines.
14. Integrate and be a team player.
Skills and Experience Specification:
Essential
15. Experience of working within a similar role (typically 1-2 yrs experience)
16. Min 3 A levels at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
17. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to underpin broker development and relationship building.
18. IT literate
19. Excellent organisation skills
Desirable
20. Working towards insurance qualifications is desirable but not essential
21. Professional Indemnity underwriting knowledge is desirable but not essential (commercial SME background acceptable)
