GSL Education are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants with care experience to work in a school setting in Doncaster (DN8). As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will support students with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop independence, and build confidence in a structured and supportive setting. Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant: Provide one-to-one support for students with Special Educational Needs Assist pupils with personal care and daily routines where required Support students with communication, social, and emotional development Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted learning activities Encourage positive behaviour and support students in managing emotions Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support engagement Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements: Previous care experience (essential), such as support work, healthcare, or residential care Experience working with individuals with SEN, autism, or complex needs is desirable A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach Strong communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable individuals An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application.
