Call for entries to East Linton Art Exhibition

East Linton Art Exhibition

Deadline: 20 September 2025 at 13:10

57th East Linton Art exhibition takes place from 9th to 12th October 2025.

* There are prizes for 1st place - £500

* Five commemorations - £100 each

Entries open 1st August.

In the 1960s East Linton's commercial activity and population showed signs of decline, following a successful economic and social history as an important farming centre, supported by a number of mills, built along the banks of the River Tyne and the railway connection. To overcome this decline, the Traders Association was formed in order to raise the profile of the community. In 1968 the idea of an art exhibition was drawn from the village's former popularity with artists such as Arthur Melville, Robert Noble, Martin Hardie, John Pettie (to name a few) who were natives or lived in East Linton. The judge for this first show was William G. Gillies and Stanley White, former and current Principal of Edinburgh College of Art at the time.

The show has been run by volunteers annually ever since and raises funds for the Community Hall in which the exhibition is held.

To apply please go to our website.

Single entry costs £5, max 5 entries per artist. Submissions open 1st September and the deadline is 20th September 2025.

Prizes will be awarded at the opening night on 5th September.

Sponsored by Eve's Foundation, McInroy and Wood, Northland, Torness Motors and Rock and Salt.

Location: All Scotland

The deadline is Saturday 20 September 2025 at 13:10.
