Overview
RNLI is seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join our Engineering team, responsible for the safety and compliance of all RNLI floating assets (boats and equipment).
About You
We are looking for a motivated individual with a dynamic approach to your work. You\'ll demonstrate a passion for Engineering and a commitment to saving lives at sea. To be considered, you should have:
* Experience in the ownership and development of safety case and the framework for the management of safety cases
* Experience managing senior stakeholders, including duty holders
* Formal training as a safety engineer or experience working as such
* Accredited engineering or safety management qualification (or equivalent)
* Strong communication skills
* Experience in the development of Safety Cases and management of design intent
Desirable
* Engineering compliance experience, preferably in the Workboat Code or Irish Coastguard requirements and guidance
* Experience in the development of regulation
* Risk management training (IOSH or equivalent)
* Experience in designing or operating SAR vessels
* Experience in marine design and engineering environments
* Chartered or Fellow Engineer registration with the Engineering Council
* Significant experience working at Senior or Principal level in a related engineering discipline
* Experience in certification through class society or flag and development of codes, standards or regulations
