Part-Time Support Worker - 30 hours
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 15:00
Join our team to lead client case management, supporting individuals in maintaining safety and achieving personal goals. We provide homes and specialised support to help clients feel valued, secure, and prepared for their next steps.
Main Responsibilities
1. Assess clients' needs and develop personalised support plans.
2. Regularly review comprehensive risk assessments for clients.
3. Manage a caseload, providing one-to-one support.
4. Assist clients in securing and maintaining accommodation and achieving service-specific outcomes.
5. Engage with local authorities, health providers, and other agencies to foster constructive relationships.
6. Lead client activities to develop practical skills and encourage engagement with the service.
7. Support clients with financial management, rent payments, arrears, and accessing benefits.
8. Signpost clients to community resources, education, training, employment, and volunteering opportunities.
9. Support clients using trauma-informed and psychologically informed approaches.
10. Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures.
11. Ensure health and safety standards are maintained for clients, visitors, and premises.
12. Provide basic first aid as needed (training provided).
13. Work confidently and efficiently while lone working.
14. Maintain accurate records in our client management system, ensuring GDPR compliance.
15. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
16. Perform any other duties in the interest of the organisation.
Role Requirements
1. Enhanced DBS check with Barred List(s) required upon appointment.
2. Full driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
3. Flexibility to work across multiple sites.
4. Ability to work with clients on a one-to-one basis.
5. Willingness to work nights and weekends, including lone working.
Essential Criteria
1. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
2. Proficiency in English and good keyboard skills.
3. Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
4. Confident, assertive, and self-motivated.
5. Effective team player and able to respond calmly in crises.
6. Genuine concern for homelessness and related issues.
Desirable Criteria
1. Experience managing a caseload.
2. Understanding of risk assessment and outcome-based support.
3. Knowledge of support needs of homeless individuals or those with complex needs.
4. Familiarity with voluntary and statutory agencies, housing regulations, and benefits system.
