Role Overview
Seeking an experienced Linux Administrator to join a team supporting the engineering infrastructure of a major aerospace organisation.
The role is primarily focused on Linux systems operating across multiple network layers. The team supports infrastructure that enables engineering teams to access processing, storage, and memory resources for complex simulation activities.
You will also be involved in maintaining a range of applications hosted on the infrastructure, including incident and request management systems. Day-to-day, you will collaborate closely with Capgemini colleagues, third-party suppliers, and client stakeholders.
The role is based on site in Stevenage, with travel to the Airbus site as required.

Key Responsibilities
Application support, including installation and upgrades
Provision of HPC resources (primarily for systems engineering, eg MATLAB)
Infrastructure administration (Red Hat Linux, Kickstart, VMware systems)
Information Management in liaison with support groups (Data Centre Services, Networks)
Hardware diagnostics and fault finding
Shell Scripting
Management, investigation, and resolution of support tickets within SLA
System updates (applications, Middleware, databases)
Required Skills & Experience
Strong Linux Administration experience (RHEL or similar)
Strong hands-on experience with Ansible
Strong understanding and practical experience of Network Protocols
Git (practical, hands-on experience)
Strong documentation skills
